Memorial Day …

… is hazy, hot, and humid, with the temperature up around 90. You’d think from the feel of it that it was late July or early August rather than Memorial Day. All we need are some heavy thunderstorms to complete the illusion and there are some clouds building up in the afternoon heat, so who knows? Staying outside too long is out of the question, but I did get some nice photos of new blooms that have opened on Fisherman’s Friend, Fragrant Cloud, Fragrant Lace, Graham Thomas, Lagerfeld, Melody Parfumee, and Pierre de Ronsard, A few of the roses were getting unruly and I’ve tied them to stakes so they don’t grow together too badly. One of the things that I’m admittedly bad about is keeping the roses within bounds. I usually just let them grow and grow, which is how I wind up with flowers of Heritage, for example, that I need a ladder to smell! 🙂
