The Roses of Late Summer

Though I've been preoccupied with insects the last few days, the roses are still my main focus in the garden.  Over the last few days, we've had blooms from Double Delight, Fisherman's Friend, Lagerfeld, Louise Odier, Melody Parfumee, Pat Austin, Peace, Red Ribbons, Sunbright, and Winchester Cathedral.  These late summer blooms are most welcome with their beautiful colors and wonderful fragrances.  The late summer flowers are generally smaller than those from earlier in the year (probably reflecting the hotter and drier conditions), yet I find that this in no way detracts from them.  This is Pat Austin.
