This beautiful specimen dogwood tree was planted in the foundation bed circle between the side yard and the back yard as part of the rebuilding of the side yard garden in 2010 after the spruce tree fell during the blizzard.
Just a few days after planting, the flowers are beginning to open.
Here, toward the end of April, is the dogwood in full bloom and starting to leaf out.
At the very end of April, the blossoms are starting to fade and the tree is leafing out. I'm very, very happy with this new addition to the garden!
May has the tree completely leafed out.
In late-April 2011, the Dogwood began to bloom and continued through early May. While some of the lower branches seem to have not survived last year, the upper portion is thriving as you can see.
The dogwood has done fantastically well and burst into bloom in early April 2012.
