The heat of summer has shown up a week early and the forecast is for increasing heat and humidity over the weekend. It's sure to make deadheading less than pleasant. The roses have responded to the heat by opening some new blooms. Garden Party is looking gorgeous as is Graham Thomas and the potted Mini Rose. Some swollen, partially open buds on Sunbright and Tropicana foreshadow pleasant things to come. As is usually the case when it heats up, the Hydrangea is looking a bit wilted but will be back to itself come morning. As for me, well, all things considered, I'm a bit wilted too!
