The Roses Seem To Have Survived!

After planting Mme. Isaac Pereire yesterday, I took a walk around the garden checking up on things.  Much to my pleasant surprise, every one of the roses has now broken bud and all are putting forth strong new growth.  I had expected that the false spring in December and January (when a number of the roses had put forth new growth) coupled with the frigid weather in February and March (which killed off that new growth) would leave me with a few rose casualties this year.  Thankfully, at this point in time it appears that that won't be the case.
