Falstaff |
Falstaff was purchased to replace French Perfume, which died during the winter of 2004-2005. It's another David Austin English rose that's deep red and I have high hopes that, as with my other English roses, it will grow tall so that I can enjoy it from the front porch. Here it is just after planting.
Well, here we are, the 5th of June 2006 and Falstaff has given us its very first blossom, and a beauty it is too! The fragrance is classic Old Rose (Damask).
5 June 2007 brings the bloom of Falstaff, the next to the last of the previously planted roses to bloom.
It's early June 2008 and Falstaff has opened its first bloom.
It's 27 May 2009 and Falstaff has bloomed.
Falstaff has rebloomed in August.
It's early June 2010 and Falstaff has begun to bloom, one of the last roses to do so.
It's Memorial Day weekend 2011 and Falstaff has begun to bloom.
What a difference a day makes!
Early June finds Falstaff putting on quite a show.
