Garden Party

Garden Party was purchased in mid-May 2004 to replace White Lightning which was one of the victims of the horrendous winter of 2003-2004.  I got it in a pot and already in bloom.  It has a sweet fragrance and a lovely white bloom, with a pinkish cast.  It's descended from Peace and I can only hope that it is as healthy as that one is.

The horrendous winter of 2004-2005 did a number on Garden Party and it took most of the year to recover.  Rather than allow it to bloom, I pinched off the few buds it formed to allow it to devote all its energy to new growth.  Hopefully, it will once again be healthy and bloom in 2006.

It's 15 June 2006 and Garden Party has produced its first bloom in two years.

The fourth of July weekend, 2009, brings the bloom of Garden Party, the last of my roses to bloom this year.  Unfortunately, it also brings the damned japanese beetles!

At the end of July, Garden Party has opened a beautiful blossom.

In early June 2010, Garden Party got browsed by the local vermin (deer) which ate off all the buds.  It's now late June/Early July, and Garden Party has recovered well as if to flip off the deer and has now bloomed.

Of course, the Japanese beetles are after it too!  ::sigh::
