Spiraea |
Another wonderful old shrub on the property is this spiraea. I've been told by a neighbor that it's the variety called "bridal wreath" but can't be sure of that. Each spring, it lights up with masses of pinkish white blossoms.

It's now the end of April 2010 and the spiraea has started to bloom. I had someone from Spain write me to say that this is actually a deutzia and not a spiraea and I'm researching it to see if I was misinformed when the house was built to many years ago.
The spiraea has bloomed once again in early May 2011.
