This is the English shrub rose Sweet Juliet. It is one of the few apricot colored roses in the world. It has an intense, spicy fragrance that is unlike that of most other roses. It has once again bloomed in 1999 -- the digital camera once again does a much better job of showing the true color of this most striking rose.
In mid-September 1999, Sweet Juliet is once again in full bloom, lighting up the backyard with color and fragrance!
Sweet Juliet is putting on a final flush to close out 1999.
Sweet Juliet has begun it's millenial bloom -- late May, 2000.
It's the beginning of June, 2001, and Sweet Juliet has begun to bloom.
Sweet Juliet has begun its 2002 bloom on Memorial Day weekend.
Sweet Juliet waited until the second week of June, 2003, to begin to bloom.
Sweet Juliet has begun to bloom in late May 2004.
It's now early June 2005 and Sweet Juliet has burst into bloom!
It's the end of May 2006 and Sweet Juliet has bloomed. It has a fragrance that is most pleasant!
Sweet Juliet hasn't bloomed since its spring flush. Imagine my surprise when I found this on the bush in late November!
It's the day after Memorial Day 2007 and Sweet Juliet has bloomed.
Late August has Sweet Juliet once more in bloom.
In previous years, Sweet Juliet has been shy about giving us blossoms after the first spring flush. Not this year -- it's now September and here she is!
The end of September and still at it!
3 June 2008 brings the first blooms on Sweet Juliet.
It's now mid-June and Sweet Juliet is having a great year!
27 May 2009 brings with it the first blooms on Sweet Juliet.
Sweet Juliet is putting on an incredible show this year!
The second week of August ....
It's now getting toward the end of May 2010 and Sweet Juliet has burst into bloom.
I really wish I had the words to describe the fragrance of this rose to you. Everyone who smells it falls in love with it.
And into July. The blossoms fade in the intense heat.
It's Memorial Day weekend 2011 and Sweet Juliet has begun to bloom.
